DEEP 58 – 06/15/2012: Kitaoka Spoke at the Media Work-Out

“This fight is ‘everything’ for me”

Satoru Kitaoka told the reporters at the media work out held at the DEEP official gym IMPACT on Thursday.

He is going to face Katsunori Kikuno in the upcoming DEEP 58 IMPACT at the Korakuen Hall.

All seats are sold out and there are just few standing room tickets left for this show, and this tells that the Japanese fans are really looking forward to see this match-up between two big name Japanese fighters.

Kitaoka sparred for just one two-minute round however showed many submission moves and finished the session with his favorite move, a guillotine choke.

“I’ve trained grappling with him from March of last year till around summer here (at IMPACT gym). Even in grappling, he is very strong.”

Kitaoka admits Kikuno is a tough opponent but stated, “But I have this complete image of me winning this fight”.

Also, Kitaoka commented on his former association, Pancrase, in regards to their new ownership, “I am glad they are surviving.” In addition, about DREAM, Kitaoka said, “I don’t think those DREAM staff will fade out that easily. I believe winning this fight would be a good bridge towards DREAM re-starting.”
