One Championship middleweight champion Vitaly Bigdash finally makes his first defense of the belt as he takes on Aung La N Sang, a late replacement for Marcin Prachnio. One Championship – “Quest for Power” takes place January 14th at the Jakarta Convention Center in Jakarta, Indonesia with an iPPV through the promotion’s website.
Vitaly Bigdash holds a perfect record at 8-0 but he hasn’t fought since winning the One Championship title in October 2015. The Russian fighter mostly fought in ProFC where he defeated Pavel Pokatilov, Charles Andrade, and Magomed Magomedkerimov prior to joining One. For his promotional debut Bigdash defeated Igor Svirid by TKO at 0:36 of the second round to win the belt. Aung La N Sang enters this bout 19-9 with four wins in One. N Sang’s last loss was to Jonavin Webb in CFFC in October 2013 by TKO half-way through the first round. After joining One N Sang tore through Mahmoud Salama, Mohamed Ali, Aleksei Butorin, and most recently Michal Pasternak. N Sang also had some time off with no fights from June 2014 until March 2016 but since his return N Sang scored his three most recent wins, the Pasternak win coming in October.
The co-main event is a battle of a vet vs. a hot prospect as Kazunori Yokota takes on Martin Nguyen. Yokota stands 25-6 with a thirteen-fight win streak in Deep broken by a rear-naked choke loss to Marat Gafurov in his One debut last May. Nguyen is much less experienced at 7-1 but is 4-1 in One with his modest three-win streak consisting of victories over Edward Kelly, Li Kai Wen, and Christian Lee.
