Multiple media outlets have reported the return of Anastasia Yankova to Bellator. The flyweight fighter will take on Kate Jackson at Bellator 200, which takes place May 25 at The SSE Arena in London.
Yankova signed with Bellator in 2016. At the time, she had a 2-0 record composed of a pair of wins in her native Russia. Yankova began her Bellator career with a first-round submission victory over Anjela Pink. She then took a pair of decisions over Veta Arteaga and Elina Kallionidou. By the time she returns to the cage, Yankova will have been out of action for over a year.
Jackson competed on the 23rd season of “The Ultimate Fighter.” On the reality show, she went 2-1 with her only loss coming against eventual champion Tatiana Suarez. However, she never received an invitation to compete in the UFC. Last year, Jackson joined Bellator. In her promotional debut, she scored an injury stoppage victory over Colleen Schneider. In her last fight, Jackson dropped a decision against former UFC title challenger Valerie Letourneau.
In the main event of Bellator 200, Bellator middleweight champion Rafael Carvalho will put his title on the line against former Strikeforce champion Gegard Mousasi. In the co-main event, veteran Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic will return from a brief retirement against Roy Nelson.
