He earned another shot at the same belt two years later and fell once against via close decision, this time, against Daniel Cormier. In his last fight, he got back on the winning track with a one-sided victory over former KSW champion Jan Blachowicz.
Teixeira recently got back in the cage for the first time since falling to Anthony Johnson in 13 seconds. He returned and scored a decision over Jared Cannonier. Teixeira has been competing in the UFC since 2012. During his run, he has defeated the likes of Ryan Bader, Ovince Saint Preux, Rashad Evans and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson. In 2014, he faced Jones for the light heavyweight title and came up short losing via decision.
