With Marlon Moraes out due to injury Gianni Subba steps in to face Reece McLaren in Asia’s largest promotion. One Championship “Visions of Victory” takes place March 9th at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia with an iPPV through the promotion’s website.
Most of Reece McLaren’s 10-5 career was at bantamweight where his four-fight winning streak was broken in a title fight against Bibiano Fernandes while his follow-up was a loss to Kevin Belingon. McLaren’s sole fight at flyweight so far was a submission of Anatpong Bunrad in November. Gianni Subba enters this bout 9-2. Subba had a four-fight win streak broken by Geje Eustaquio in April 2016, in the past two years he has defeated Yago Bryan and Riku Shibuya both by unanimous decision.
In the co-main event 7-1 Agilan Thangalapani faces 5-4 Amitesh Chaubey at middleweight. Thangalapani’s only loss was a title fiht against former welterweight champion Ben Askren last May, since then he moved up to middleweight where he won a unanimous decision over Sherif Mohamed last August. Chaubey makes his promotional debut after spending his entire career to date in Super Fight League. After taking a loss to Mukesh Gora in October 2013 Chaubey slowed down his career earning a win over Jason Ramesh Solomon in September 2015 followed by a unanimous decision loss to Abhishek Rana in January 2017.
