After an injury ruined her scheduled Bellator debut last July, former UFC title challenger Valerie Letourneau will give it another shot against Kate Jackson at Bellator 191. The event takes place Dec. 15 at the Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle, England.
Letourneau signed with the UFC in 2014 as a bantamweight. She won her debut over Elizabeth Phillips and then decided to move down to 115 pounds. At strawweight, Letourneau won a pair of bouts against Jessica Rakoczy and Maryna Moroz. In the process, she earned a title shot against Joanna Jedrzejczyk. After losing the title shot, Letourneau dropped back-to-back bouts against Joanne Calderwood and Viviane Pereira before leaving the UFC.
Jackson won a pair of bouts on the 23rd season of “The Ultimate Fighter” before losing to the eventual champion Tatiana Suarez in the semifinals. Since the show, Jackson has gone 2-0 and picked up a victory in her Bellator debut over veteran Colleen Schneider at Bellator 182.
Bellator 191, which will a co-promotion with the British Association of MMA, will also feature the Bellator debut of former UFC bantamweight Michael McDonald.
