The UFC is reportedly working towards a match between former UFC bantamweight champion Holly Holm and Ji Yeon Kim. The bout would be part of UFC Fight Night 11, which takes place June 17 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore. Holm’s manager, Lenny Fresquez confirmed to the Albuquerque Journal that the UFC is looking to set up the bout, but nothing is signed at this time.
Holm will be looking to get back on track after dropping three-straight bouts. In 2015, she defeated Ronda Rousey to claim the UFC bantamweight title. However, in her very next fight, she fell victim to a submission from Miesha Tate and dropped the belt. Holm then dropped a decision to Valentina Shevchenko in the main event of UFC on Fox 20. Despite the back-to-back losses, the UFC still match Holm against Germaine de Randamie for the inaugural women’s featherweight title. De Randamie ended up taking the close decision victory.
Before converting to MMA, Holm competed extensively as a boxer. She holds a 33-2-3 record in the sport.
Kim holds an undefeated 6-0-2 record as a professional. She picked up a win and a draw against former Strikeforce title challenger Takayo Hashi. In her last fight, Kim scored a first-round submission victory over Chinese fighter Tao Li.
