The UFC has signed ADCC gold medalist Davi Ramos to fill in against Sergio Moraes. Moraes’ original opponent, Max Griffin, was forced out of UFC Fight Night 106. The card takes place March 11 at the Centro de Formacao Olimpica do Nordeste in Fortaleza, Brazil.
At the 2015 ADCC tournament, Ramos defeated Young-Am Noh, Gabriel Rollo, Gilbert Burns and Lucas Lepri to take the gold medal in the under 77 kg division. Ramos began his MMA career in 2010 with a submission victory over UFC veteran Juan Manuel Puig. Since then, he has built a 6-1 record with his only loss coming against David Rickels at Bellator 130. In his last fight, he scored a decision win over Nick Piedmont at Phoenix FC 1.
Moraes has been fighting for the UFC since 2012. During his run, he has picked up signature victories over the likes of Neil Magny and Omari Akhmedov. In his last fight, he took a split-decision win over Zak Ottow.
In the main event of UFC Fight Night 106, former light heavyweight champion Vitor Belfort will take on Kelvin Gastelum in a middleweight bout.
