Mike Perry, Uriah Hall, Gregor Gillespie and Jason Gonzalez were each awarded $50,000 in bonuses for their standout performances at UFC Fight Night 116 Saturday in Pittsburgh. Perry and Hall received “Performance of the Night” honors, while Gillespie and Gonzalez earned the “Fight of the Night” award.
Perry stopped fellow welterweight Alex Reyes at 1:19 of round one in the co-main event after landing a knee from the clinch that stopped him in his tracks. The win marks Perry’s second “Performance of the Night” in a row and his eleventh career victory — with all eleven victories coming by way of knockout.
Hall proved he had the heart of a fighter with his comeback TKO victory over rising middleweight Krzysztof Jotko in the second round. Hall had been on a three-fight skid coming in to the bout but with the win picks up his fifth knockout victory inside the octagon and shows he is still a force in the 185-pound division.
Gillespie and Gonzalez entertained the fans with their back-and-forth fast-paced lightweight scrap. Gillespie was able to catch Gonzalez in an arm-triangle choke at 2:11 of the second round to get the submission win and pick up his second straight performance bonus in the UFC. He improved his record to 10-0.
