The UFC has officially announced that Michael Bisping will return to action against Robert Whittaker at UFC 193. The Aussie will have home cage advantage as the event takes place Nov. 14 at the Etihad Stadium in Melbourne.
This appears to be becoming an annual trip for Bisping. Last November, he fell to Luke Rockhold in Sydney. However, since then, Bisping has picked up back-to-back wins over C.B. Dollaway and Thales Leites. Since winning the third season of “The Ultimate Fighter” he has picked up victories over the likes of Matt Hamill, Chris Leben, Yoshihiro Akiyama, Jason Miller, Brian Stann and Cung Le.
Whittaker won “The Ultimate Fighter: The Smashes” which featured competitors from Australia and the U.K. He has gone 5-2 inside the Octagon. He is currently riding a three-fight winning streak over Mike Rhodes, Clint Hester and Brad Tavares.
In the main event of UFC 193, welterweight champion Robbie Lawler will defend his title against former WEC champion Carlos Condit. The event will be only the promotion’s third stadium show. Etihad Stadium has a seating capacity of 53,359.
