TUF Latin America winner Yair Rodriguez will make his official debut against Charles Rosa. The bout will be part of UFC 188, which takes place June 13 at the Arena Ciudad de México in Mexico City.
Rodriguez defeated Leonardo Morales in the finale of the first Latin American season of “The Ultimate Fighter.” The victory extended his professional record to 4-1. The native of Chihuahua, Mexico trains out of Ragnarok MMA.
Rosa made his UFC debut last year with a 9-0 record. He dropped his debut to Dennis Siver on the undercard of UFC Fight Night “Nelson vs. Story.” However, he recently got back on track with a third-round D’Arce choke submission over Sean Soriano earlier this year.
In the main event of UFC 188, UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez will take on interim champion Fabricio Werdum. The two were originally slated to face off at UFC 180. However, Velasquez fell off the card with an injury. That night, Werdum defeated Mark Hunt to win the interim heavyweight title.
