TUF Brazil cast member Francisco “Massaranduba” Drinaldo will return to action at UFC 153 according to Brazilian media outlet Tatame. The card takes place Oct. 13 at the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro. According to the report, the fighter will return to lightweight after competing at middleweight on the reality show. An opponent is currently known.
In the first round of the reality show, Drinaldo defeated Charles Maicon via 14-second knockout. In the next round, he came up short against Thiago Perpetuo when he could not answer the bell for the second round. Drinaldo made his UFC debut following the show. At UFC 147, he defeated IFL veteran Delson Heleno with a late-first-round stoppage.
Prior to going on TUF, “Massaranduba” built a 10-1 record on the Brazilian circuit. His only defeat came against UFC fighter Yuri Alcantara. His signature wins came over Pride FC and Dream veteran Luiz Firmino and current Jungle Fight lightweight champion Adriano Martins.
In the main event of UFC 153, featherweight champion Jose Aldo will defend his title against Erik Koch. The card also features the return of former champion Vitor Belfort who meets Alan Belcher.
