One of the top featherweights in the U.S., Nate “The Train” Landwehr (8-2) will be traveling to Brazil in March to take on one of the country’s top 145-pounders, Julio Cesar Neves (32-1) at Brave Combat Federation’s Brave CF 3 card. The bout was announced over the weekend.
Brave CF 3 will be held on Saturday, March 18, in Curitiba. A featherweight bout between UFC vet Lucas Martins and Team Nogueira standout Paulo Bananada will headline the card.
Landwehr won a unanimous decision over South Carolina’s number one featherweight Salon Staley at an A&A Fight Time Promotions card this past November. Prior to that he scored a knockout win over UFC vet Diego Saraiva on another A&A Fight Time Promotions card in March of last year. “The Train” made a name for himself early in his career fighting for the now defunct XFC promotion on AXSTV where he scored a trio of knockout victories, including a first-round KO of top prospect Keith “The Rockstar” Richardson. Landwehr has finished five of his eight victories by knockout.
Cesar Neves is riding back-to-back wins with a submission win over Carlisson Diego Santos at SMASH Fight 4 last October and a unanimous decision over Ranieri Zenidum at Aspera FC 40 in June. “Morceguinho” is a Bellator veteran and prior to being submitted by Jordan Parsons at Bellator 137 in May 2015, Cesar Neves had been riding a remarkable 30-fight unbeaten streak with knockout wins over Josh Arocho and Poppies Martinez under the Bellator banner. The 22-year-year-old Astra Fight Team product has finished a total of 19 opponents by knockout and nine by submission.
