Todd Duffee to return against Mark Godbeer at UFC 209
Todd Duffee will return to action against Mark Godbeer. The UFC has officially announced the bout as part of UFC 209. The event takes place March 4 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Duffee has been out of action since falling via knockout against former UFC champion Frank Mir in 2015. He returned to the UFC in 2012 after a two-plus year hiatus from the promotion. During his current stint, Duffee has gone 2-1 with victories over Philip De Fries and Anthony Hamilton. He originally burst onto the scene with a seven-second knockout over Tim Hague in his promotional debut. However, the UFC released him following a knockout loss to Mike Russow in 2010.
Godbeer has won three fights in a row since falling to Cheick Kongo in his only Bellator fight. During the streak, he has bested Thomas Denham, Paul Taylor and Stuart Austin all under the British Association of Mixed Martial Arts banner. He holds an 11-3 record as a professional and fights out of the Trojan Free Fighters team.
The main event for UFC 209 has not been announced. Currently scheduled for the main card is a feature fight with heavyweight veterans Alistair Overeem and Mark Hunt.
