Tim Elliott (14-8-1) and Justin Scoggins (11-4) will meet in a flyweight matchup at UFC on FOX 26. UFC officials recently announced the fight.
UFC on FOX 26 will be held Dec. 16 from MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The event will air live on FOX with early prelims streaming live on UFC Fight Pass. A main event for the card is still to be determined.
Elliott fought Demetrious Johnson for the flyweight title at the TUF 24 Finale last December but lost the decision. Elliott rebounded successfully and earned “Fight of the Night” honors in his next fight though, scoring a unanimous decision over Louis Smolka at UFC on FOX 24 in April.
The 30-year-old former Titan FC Flyweight Champion most recently fought in June but was submitted by Ben Nguyen in the first round at UFC Fight Night 110. Elliott is now 1-2 in what is his second stint inside the UFC octagon. The Wichita native has finished five of his 14 career wins via submission and three via knockout.
Scoggins is currently 4-4 in his UFC bid and is coming off a pair of submission losses to Ulka Sasaki in June and Pedro Munhoz (bantamweight) last November. Prior to that the former Warfare FC Flyweight Champion earned unanimous decision wins over Ray Borg and Josh Sampo.
Scoggins also holds victories over Richi Vaculik and Will Campuzano inside the UFC octagon. The 25-year-old South Carolina native holds a black belt in Kenpo Karate and has finished six of his 11 career wins via knockout and one by submission.
