Australia’s own Tai Tuivasa (7-0) will make his octagon debut when he faces fellow heavyweight Rashad Coulter (8-2) at UFC Fight Night 121 on Nov. 19 in Sydney. The matchup was recently announced by the organization.
Tuivasa is a 24-year-old former rugby player who is unbeaten with seven straight first-round knockouts to his credit. “Bam Bam” most recently defended his Australian FC heavyweight title last October by causing UFC vet James McSweeney to quit on his stool between rounds.
Tuivasa claimed the Australian FC heavyweight title in June of last year with a 21-second knockout via elbow strike against Brandon Sosoli. He also boasts a 44-second KO win on his record, and started his pro debut off in April 2012 with a 20-second knockout victory.
Coulter will be looking for his first victory inside the octagon after dropping his debut to Chase Sherman via knockout at UFC 211 in May. “Daywalker” had knocked out five straight opponents in the first round prior to that including an XKO light heavyweight title win against Allen Nelson II in April 2016.
Coulter has also fought under the LFA, Legacy FC and Bellator banners. He has finished all eight of his career wins via knockout.
UFC Fight Night 121 will be headlined with a heavyweight matchup between Mark Hunt and Marcin Tybura. Stay close to adcombat.com for more updates to this card and all your BJJ and MMA news.
