SHOOTO – 04/23/2017: Ogikubo to face Martinez from Alliance MMA

Hiromasa Ogikubo and Danny Martinez

TUF veteran Hiromasa Ogikubo’s next opponent is going to be Danny Martinez.

Sustain, the promoter of Shooto, announced this on Tuesday.

Ogikubo is the current world flyweight champion of Shooto but this will be a non-title fight, three five-minute rounds.

Martinez is from team Alliance MMA in San Diego.

He signed with UFC in 2014. Martinez went 1-3 in 4 fights. Although he won the last UFC fight, Martinez was released from UFC in 2015.

Since then, Martinez has defeated Benjamin Vinson in Combate Americas and Cory Alexander in ACB so he is currently on a three-fight win streak.

Ogikubo is also on a three-fight win streak.

He is still hoping to get an offer from UFC so this is the fight he just absolutely needs to win.
