SHOOTO – 03/24/2017: Ishibashi vs Sato is the Headliner
The bout order of this weekend’s Shooto event at Korakuen Hall is announced on Monday.
The headliner is going to be a Shooto Pacific Rim bantamweight title fight between the champion Keita Ishibashi and the challenger Shoko Sato.
Ishibashi is the winner of Shooto’s MVP and Best Bout of 2016. He has posted seven wins and one draw in last nine fights. Only one of these fights went to judges’ score cards and that was the draw. Basically, Ishibashi fighting means its basically a guaranteed exciting fight. At age 30 Ishibashi is in the peak years of his pro MMA career.
Speaking of peak years, Sato is a 29-year old that is currently on a 3-fight win streak.
Sato made a pro debut at age 19, and so far, he had 45 pro fights. That is about 4.5 fights per year for 10 years, which is a lot.
All these years of training and fighting could take a toll on you. Yet Sato only suffered two TKO losses in his career and both of them were by the doctor stoppage. This means, in ten years of fighting professionally, Sato has never been KO’d.
We can expect to see a very close fight between these two veterans.
This event will be televised live via UFC Fight Pass.
