SHOOTO – 02/24/2018: Hirakawa’s second fight at 135 lbs announced and more

Tomoya Hirakawa (left)

Sustain announced first set of fight cards of the second Shooto event of 2018.

The only three five-minute round fight announced so far is a bantamweight crash between Tomoya Hirakawa and Yosuke Ebihara.

Hirakawa came down from 145 lbs from last November so this is going to be his second fight at the bantamweight division. Ebihara is a small bantamweight that is on a three-fight losing streak so this is the fight Hirakawa must win if he wants to stay in the hunt for the title.

All the other fights announced so far are two five-minute round bouts but some of them are very good match-ups between good looking young talents.

Last year’s rookie tournament winner at the bantamweight division, Kunihisa Sasa, is going to face 2016 rookie tournament winner Takahiro Ichou.

Another rookie tournament winner from last year, Yuki Ueno, is going to get a second chance against Taichi Taguchi. These two met back in March of last year. At this fight, Ueno was basically overwhelmed by Taguchi’s power.
