SHOOTO – 01/28/2018: Uoi vs Sone to decide the New Pacific Rim Champion

Mamoru “Full Swing” Uoi

Keita Ishibashi relinquished Shooto Pacific Rim title, therefore, Mamoru “Full Swing” Uoi and Kazuma Sone will fight to determine new champion.

Ever since he left Kobe, his home town, and move to Tokyo in 2016, “Full Swing” has been very impressive. Uoi has won 8 straight fights with 6 KO/ TKO. Most recently he did draw against Akuri Ronda but at age 32 he is looking better than ever.

Sone is a 29-year old veteran with pro record of 22-15-1. Ever since the pro debut back in 2006 Sone has been fighting for various promotions such as HEAT, Battle Code, Gladiators, Pancrase, Demolition, Tenkaichi Fight and Vale Tudo Japan. He came to Shooto in 2016 and started off well by knocking out Taiki Tsuchiya but lost to Seiji Akano in HEAT and the current Shooto world bantamweight champion Shoko Sato in Shooto.

But he bounced back in the later part of 2017 by defeating Keiichiro and Tomohiro Hagino.
