The UFC has announced that Ryan Benoit will take on Ashkan Mokhtarian when the Octagon returns to Australia. The flyweight contest has been officially added to UFC Fight Night 121, which takes place Nov. 19 at the Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, Australia.
Benoit has alternated wins and loss since joining the promotion in 2013. He holds a pair of wins over Fredy Serrano and Sergio Pettis. In his last fight, he dropped a split decision against Brandon Moreno at the TUF 24 Finale. The loss dropped his professional record to 9-5.
Mokhtarian is still looking for his first UFC win after joining the promotion earlier this year. In his debut, he fell via decision against John Moraga at UFC Fight Night 110. The defeat snapped a six-fight winning streak that dated back to 2015. The Australian fighter has been fighting professionally since 2011 and holds a 13-2 record.
In the main event of UFC Fight Night 121, former K-1 World Grand Prix champion Mark Hunt will return to action against former M-1 champion Marcin Tybura.
