The UFC has confirmed a lightweight contest between Rustam Khabilov and Kajan Johnson. The bout will be part of UFC Fight Night 127, which takes place March 17 at the 02 Arena in London.
Khabilov is riding a five-fight winning streak that dates back to 2016. In that year, he went 4-0 with victories over Norman Parke, Chris Wade, Leandro Silva and Jason Saggo. Last year, Khabilov continued his winning ways in the UFC with a decision victory over former Titan FC featherweight champion Des Green. The victory over Green improved the Russian’s professional record to 22-3.
Johnson is also riding a winning streak as he has won his last three bouts in the Octagon. He returned from a two-year layoff last September and defeated Adriano Martins at UFC 215. Johnson joined the UFC in 2014 after competing on the “The Ultimate Fighter Nations: Canada vs. Australia.” The Canadian holds a 22-12-1 professional record.
A light heavyweight contest between Jimi Manuwa and Jan Blachowicz is currently the headlining fight for UFC Fight Night 127. A main event bout is expected to be added over the next month.
