ROAD FC 024 in JAPAN – Middleweight Champion Riki Fukuda signs 6-figure contract, CEO Jung Moon-Hong offers Choi Hong-Man financial help

27 July, 2015 – "360 GAME presents ROAD FC 024 in Japan" was held at the Ariake Coliseum on 25 July.  An audience of approximately 7,000 watched ROAD FC's historic first overseas event.

The Main Event was the Middleweight Championship between Riki Fukuda and Jeon Uh-Jin.  Jeon had heart and bravery to stand and trade punches with Fukuda, but the Japanese stand out was no match for him when he let loose his striking.  Fukuda was able to get the Knock Out at just 2 minutes and 27 seconds of the first round.

At the press conference following the event, Fukuda stated:

"This win is not only mine, it is my team's victory.  Thank you to everyone who helped me."

ROAD FC CEO Jung Moon-Hong announced that Fukuda had signed a new multi-fight contract for a 6-figure (US Dollars) amount, and stated:

"Congratulations for becoming a ROAD FC fighter who will make a 6-figure salary."

Fukuda resonded:

"Thank you, I am very happy.  I am waiting for the next chance."

In the Co-Main event, Choi Hong-Man made his professional fighting return against Carlos Toyota.  Toyota rushed in with long punches and was able to Knock Out Choi at just 1 minute 29 seconds of the first round.  It was a stunning and unpredictable finish.

At the press conference following the event, Choi was silent about his disappointing loss.  On his behalf, CEO Jung said:

"More media was focused on Choi Hong-Man's condition before the fight rather than being supportive of his return.  I assure you he was training and ready for competition.  There were many negative reports about Choi Hong-Man's financial status released in the media just days before he was supposed to fight.  Choi was really affected by this, and he couldn't eat or sleep."

In regards to Choi's financial issues, CEO Jung responded:

"I will solve Choi Hong-Man's debt.  Negative articles don't serve to promote (MMA), especially in this situation from the Korean media."

The Main Card matches were thrilling from the start.  Lee Kwang-Hee and Juri Ohara went toe-to-toe striking and punched each other hard quite a few times, until Lee was able to get inside the long reach of Ohara and knock him out.  Shinashi Satoko imposed her strong grappling acumen on debutant Lee Ye-Ji who surprised everyone with her skills and heart, as it took Shinashi to the end of the fight to stop her.  Yoon Dong-Sik and Takase Daiju engaged in a grueling battle that ended with Yoon's hand raised by Split Decision.

Kim Soo-Chul and Nakahara Taiyo brought the intensity of top level fighters to their match, and it was any man's game, until Kim took advantage of Taiyo's position and caught him in a guillotine just seconds before the first round bell.  Minowaman won his match against Kim Dae-Sung by decision, although both fighters wanted to have the Knock Out throughout the fight.  Choi Mu-Bae showed the deadly power in his hands with a second round TKO of Kawaguchi Yusuke.

ROAD FC 024 in Japan signed a broadcast arrangement with tertiary Tokyo station Tokyo MX to rebroadcast the event on 2 August  However, because of what Tokyo MX calls bad publicity regarding Choi Hong-Man's financials that was released prior to the event, Tokyo MX has declined to fulfill the contract.  ROAD FC is still hopeful that an agreement can be reached with Tokyo MX in the near future.

ROAD FC 025 is set for 22 August in hometown Wonju, South Korea.  The Main Event will be two ROAD FC Champions colliding at featherweight as Featherweight Champion Choi Mu-Gyeom faces Bantamweight Champion Lee Yun-Jun.  Also, three fighters from the next generation of Korean MMA will be featured, including well-known K-1 and RISE kickboxer Kwon Min-Seok, women's prodigy Park Jeong-Eun, and Park Hyung-Guen.

ROAD FC is the stage where legends shine, rookies thrill, and epic battles are waged that determine the future of MMA. From the pageantry of the grand entrance to the final crunch of the KO, ROAD FC showcases the very best of Mixed Martial Arts sports and entertainment. As we say in Korea, "Fighting!"
