Pancrase bantamweight champion Shintaro Ishiwatari’s fifth title defense is going to be against Rafael Silva from Brazil.
This fight was announced during Pancrase 285 held at the Differ Ariake on March 12th.
Ishiwatari stepped into the cage during the intermission and shared his thoughts on the challenger, “Without a doubt, he is the strongest challenger ever. Please just watch how I am going to win this fight.”
Silva is a Bellator MMA veteran with 33 pro MMA fights under his belt.
After posting 3 wins and 2 losses in the Viacom-owned promotion, Silva fought few times in Brazil then signed with Pancrase in early 2016.
Since then, a Brazilian defeated Shohei Masumizu, Masakatsu Ueda, and Victor Henry to get this title shot.
