PANCRASE 273 – 12/13/2015: Jameson Out Due To “Managemtn Trouble”

151213pancrase-posterA Brazilian with 17-1 pro MMA record, Jameson Reis, was supposed to fight Satoshi Inaba in Pancrase 273 but he is out due to the “management trouble”.

A veteran from Akimoto Dojo is now taking on Kohei Tokeshi.

In the press release, Pancrase didn’t explain the detail of “management trouble” and it’s actually very interesting for Japanese MMA promotion to just settle with one rather convenient term. Usually the promotion comes up with “good reason” like injury or death in the family.

Under the new ownership of Masakazu Sakai, “sense and feeling” of running MMA promotion seem to be quite different.

Instead of coming up with actual doctor’s note with full detail explanation type of announcement, Pancrase just said “management trouble”.

A 23-year old MMA promotion was, maybe, talking to someone that didn’t represent Reis. Or, maybe, Reis signed thinking it was an one-fight deal but later realized it was a multi-fight deal so now hesitant of fighting in Japan and Pancrase just let it go. No one knows the detail but obviously no one really cares.

Therefore, Pancrase just settled by stating “management trouble”.

Quite practical.

But not surprising though because under Sakai, everything Pancrase has been doing were quite practical.
