Its actually amazing that this guy is still active.
At age 44, 134 pro MMA fights under his belt, Shannon "The Cannon" Ritch is still active a pro MMA fighter.
(According to Ritch, he is actually 120-80-2 since 1991)
And, its not like he retired once and came back.
Since 1998, except 2007 and 2014, he has been fighting every single year. (Probably since 1991) Not just few fights a year. It's actually the other way around. Ritch as been super active.
For example, in year 2002 he fought 16 times followed by 17 fights in 2003. Sure, only one out of last 48 fights went past first round but Ritch must be doing something different from the others if he is getting this much fights.
This Sunday, for the first time in over ten years, "The Cannon" will be fighting in Japan. He is taking on a Japanese veteran, Hikaru Sato (22-21-4) from team Pancrase MISSION in Pancrase 269.
Ritch held a media work out on Thursday in Tokyo and talked to the reporters.
"I am very excited to be back in Japan. Recently I won Jiu-jitsu title, and I train Muay Thai as well. I am not a pro-wrestler. I wanted to prove myself as a MMA fighter and that's why I came to Japan."
