Mackens Semerzier vs. Anthony Morrison to be added to WEC 48

A featherweight fight between Mackens Semerzier and Anthony Morrision istargeted for WEC 48. MMAJunkie reported that match up on Monday and added thatthe fight would be a part of the preliminary card. WEC 48 will be thepromotion’s first pay per view card, and it will take place on April 24 at theARCO Arena in Sacremento, Calif.

Morrison made his promotional debut at WEC 46 against Mike Thomas Brown. Thenewcomer ended up dropping the fight by submission. Although he only made hisMMA debut in 2006 he has already had 23 professional fights. Prior to coming tothe WEC he scored a victory over UFC veteran Alvin Robinson.

With only four professional fights under his belt Semerzier made hispromotional debut against Wagnney Fabiano. In perhaps the upset of the yearSemerzier locked in a triangle choke and forced the former IFL featherweightchampion to submit. In his next fight he dropped a decision to DeividasTaurosevicius.

Headlining WEC 48 is a featherweight title fight between current champion JoseAldo and former champion Urijah Faber. The card will also feature a lightweighttitle rematch between Benson Henderson and Donald Cerrone.
