Three time BJJ world champion Vitor "Shaolin" Ribiero held a grand opening seminar for his new 3000 square foot New York City Academy, Modern Martial Arts, on Sunday, November 2nd. The event brought together nearly forty Jiu Jitsu enthusiasts from different schools to celebrate, learn and train hard together. Shaolin went through several intense drills before showing guard passes, oma plata variations and several chokes. Students ranging from white to black belt enjoyed sharing knowledge with each other in a friendly atmosphere, and Shaolin was excited about the turn out.
"It’s so nice to see my students training with people from other schools without any bad attitudes or ego," Shaolin said. "I think we can do something special at this new location. I’m looking forward to teaching my style of Jiu Jitsu at my New York academy."
