Phil Davis-Chad Griggs set to face off at UFC on Fox 4

Chad Griggs will look to continue his unlikely run in a new weight classagainst former NCAA champion Phil Davis. The pair will square off at UFC on Fox4, which takes place Aug. 4 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Davis will be looking to get back on track after dropping his firstprofessional fight in the main event of UFC on Fox 2. He failed to get thebetter of former UFC light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans.

After winning an NCAA title for Penn State in 2008, Davis transitioned to MMA.He won his first nine fights before running into Evans. He holds victories overformer WEC champion Brian Stann, Pride FC veteran Antonio Rogerio Nogueira andcurrent teammate Alexander Gustafsson.

Griggs surprisingly won his first three fights in Strikeforce's respectableheavyweight division.  In his debut, hewas matched with gargantuan former professional wrestler Bobby Lashley andoutlasted him. His next two wins came over Gian Villante and Valentijn Overeem.Griggs moved to the UFC and lost to Travis Browne. He will move down to thelight heavyweight division for this contest.

UFC on Fox 4 will feature a light heavyweight contest between former championLyoto Machida and Ryan Bader. Also on the card, Stann will meet former Bellatormiddleweight champion Hector Lombard.
