Shortly after Jon Jones defeated Rashad Evans, UFC president Dana Whiteannounced that the champion's next title defense will come against formerStrikeforce and Pride FC champion Dan Henderson.
Last Saturday, Jones picked up his third-straight title defense over a formerUFC champion. Before Evans, he had defended the belt against Quinton"Rampage" Jackson and Lyoto Machida. "Bones" defeatedMauricio "Shogun" Rua for the belt at UFC 128.
Henderson has revived his career at light heavyweight since dropping a shot atthe Strikeforce middleweight title to Jake Shields in 2010. He has wonfour-straight fights including victories over "Shogun" and formerPride FC heavyweight champion Fedor Emelianenko. Over the course of his career,he has also defeated the likes of Michael Bisping, Rich Franklin, WanderleiSilva and Vitor Belfort.
