No specifics are currently available on when CFFC 14 will air on PHL 17 butaccording to sources at the Atlantic City-based promotion the Philadelphiatelevision station is supposed to air the event “in one week” from the April 14thlive date.  PHL 17’s website does notcurrently list the program however there are several slots labeled simply “paidprogramming”.  CFFC 14 took place at the BorgataCasino in Atlantic City, NJ.

George Sullivan on topGeorge Sullivan on topIn the main event George Sullivan knocked out UFC vet Greg Soto to take thewelterweight title Soto won in his last fight. Soto and Sullivan went toe-to-toe with Sullivan defending Soto’stakedowns well until a head kick followed by a right hook felled thebetter-known fighter at just over the two minute mark.

Santella with submissionSantella with submissionMuch more one-sided Sean Santella took the vacant flyweight title with a quickrear-naked choke of Tuan Pham.  Santellascored an early takedown and spent most of the short fight passing guard, oncehe did the choke was quick and decisive.

Sterling with submissionSterling with submissionDefending welterweight champion Aljamian Sterling had the toughest fight of themain card against Casey Johnson.  Johnsonin the first round held onto a triangle choke even after Sterling lifted himoff the mat and put him against the cage ala Hughes/Newton in UFC 34, thedifference being Sterling was conscious when he slammed Johnson and was able toescape.  The second round was much moredominant as Sterling wore down Johnson en route to a rear-naked choke win.
