Nathaniel Wood scheduled for first defense of BW title, faces Josh Reed at CWFC 86
London’s Nathaniel Wood makes his first defense of the bantamweight title as he takes on undefeated Welsh standout Josh Reed. CWFC 86 takes place September 16th at the Indigo at the O2 in London, England with a live webcast starting at 4:00 EST at UFC Fight Pass.
Just over three months ago Nathaniel Wood captured the bantamweight title by defeating Marko Kovacevic at CWFC 84. Wood currently holds a record of 11-3 with three wins in a row, his only loss in two years or six fights being a TKO from Alan Philpott at BAMMA 24 in February 2016. Josh Reed holds a 7-0 record with three win in CWFC. Reed defeated Ben Rees in June 2016, Martin Sheridan last October, and Gavin Kelly in May with the Sheridan win his only fight that went to the judges.
In the co-main event 12-3 Jason Radcliffe looks to bounce back from his embarrassing 0:32 TKO loss to Oskar Piechota as he takes on 12-9 Josh Reed. Radcliffe entered CWFC 85 in June with a seven-fight win streak including a KO of Jack Mason at Bellator 158, a streak Piechota broke for an impressive CWFC debut. Carlos is 1-1 in CWFC with a win back in May 2012 over Mike Ling but a loss to Jack Hermansson in his return in April 2016. Carlos has only been fighting once a year since 2012 with a loss to Allan Love in 2013, win over Daniel Acacio in 2014, win over Sebastian Baron in 2015, and the loss to Hermansson seventeen months ago.
