The UFC has officially announced a featherweight contest featuring Mirsad Bektic and Darren Elkins. The bout will be part of UFC 209, which takes place March 4 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Bektic joined the UFC in 2014 as an undefeated prospect, and he has continued his winning ways inside the Octagon. In the UFC, the American Top Team product has bested Chas Skelly, Paul Redmond, Lucas Martins and Russell Doane to improve his professional record to 11-0.
Elkins has been competing exclusively in the UFC since joining the promotion in 2010. During his run, he has built an 11-4 record. Elkins is currently riding a three-fight winning streak including 2016 wins over Skelly and Godofredo Pepey. In the UFC, has has scored signature wins over the likes of Hatsu Hioki, Duane Ludwig and Michihiro Omigawa.
A main event bout is expected to be added to UFC 209 in the near future. At this time, the featured bout is a heavyweight contest featuring former Strikeforce, Dream and K-1 champion Alistair Overeem taking on Mark Hunt.
