Welterweights Mike Perry (11-2) and Max Griffin (13-4) are set to clash at UFC on Fox 28 next month. Both fighters confirmed the matchup this week.
UFC on Fox 28 will take place Feb. 24 from Amway Center in Orlando, Fla. A main event for the card has not yet been determined.
Perry is coming off a decision loss to Santiago Ponzinibbio at UFC on Fox 26 in December. Prior to that “Platinum” knocked out Alex Reyes in the first-round this past September and he knocked out Jake Ellenberger last April.
Perry is now 4-2 inside the octagon and also holds knockout wins over Danny Roberts and Hyun Gyu Lim. All 11 of Perry’s professional wins have been by knockout.
Griffin dropped a unanimous decision to Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos at UFC Fight Night 119 in October. Before that the 32-year-old California native stopped Erick Montano via TKO back in Nov. 2016. He is now 1-2 inside the octagon.
Griffin is a former Tachi Palace Fights welterweight champion. He’s also held middleweight and welterweight titles in the West Coast Fighting Championship organization. Seven of his 13 career wins have been by knockout and two by submission.
