Mike Perry announces bout against Max Griffin

UFC welterweight Mike Perry

Mike Perry has announced that he has signed a bout agreement to face Max Griffin. If the fight is finalized, it will be part of UFC on FOX 28, which takes place Feb. 24 at the Amway Center in Orlando, Fla.

Perry will return to action coming off a loss for only the second time in his career. At UFC on FOX 26, he dropped a unanimous decision against Santiago Ponzinibbio. Perry had previously won back-to-back knockouts over Jake Ellenberger and Alex Reyes. Since joining the UFC in 2016, Perry has gone 4-2 with four knockout victories.

Griffin signed with the UFC in 2016 and has fought three times for the promotion. He made his debut against Colby Covington on the preliminary card of UFC 202 and fell via third-round knockout. Griffin returned at UFC Fight Night 98 and defeated Erick Montano in less than a minute. In his last fight, he dropped a decision against Elizeu Zaleski at UFC Fight Night 119. His professional record currently stands at 13-4.

The UFC has not yet announced a main event for UFC on FOX 28. The main card will feature a pair of bouts with former contenders. At women’s strawweight Jessica Andrade will take on Tecia Torres. At middleweight, Olympic medalist Yoel Romero will return to action against former WSOF champion Dave Branch.
