KSW lightweight champion Mateusz Gamrot

Konfrontacja Sztuk Walki (KSW) has added a lightweight title fight to their upcoming KSW 39 “Colosseum” event. Lightweight champion Mateusz Gamrot will put his title on the line against Norman Parke. The event takes place May 27 at the Stadion PGE Narodowy in Warsaw, Poland.

Gamrot holds an undefeated 12-0 record as a professional. Last year, he defeated Mansour Barnaoui to claim the vacant KSW lightweight title. In his last fight, he successfully defended the belt with a second-round submission victory over Renato Gomes. Gamrot also holds victories over UFC veteran Andre Winner and Bellator veteran Rodrigo Cavalheiro.

Parke earned a shot in the UFC by winning “The Ultimate Fighter: The Smashes.” in 2012. He won his first three bouts in the UFC over Colin Fletcher, Kazuki Tokudome and Jon Tuck. However, the promotion released him last year after he lost three of his last four bouts in the promotion. Since leaving the UFC, Parke has picked up a pair of victories. Last October, he defeated Andrew Fisher at ACB 47. In his last bout, he took a majority decision over Paul Redmond in the main event of BAMMA 28.

KSW 39 will be the Polish promotion’s first attempt at a stadium show. Stadion PGE Narodowy has a near 60,000 capacity. The card will feature several KSW regulars including Mamed Khalidov, Mariusz Pudzianowski and Marcin Rozalski.
