Marlon Vera takes late notice bout against Brad Pickett

TUF Latin America veteran Marlon Vera

The UFC has announced that Marlon Vera will take Henry Briones’ spot against Brad Pickett. The bout will be part of UFC Fight Night 107, which takes place March 18 at The O2 Arena in London.

Vera is coming off his second win inside the Octagon. At UFC Fight Night 101, he scored a decision victory over Ning Guangyou. The Ecuadorian fighter originally joined the UFC after competing on the first season of “The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America.” Since the show, he has gone 2-2 in the UFC with his other win coming over Roman Salazar in 2015.

Pickett has announced that this will be his retirement fight. He has lost five of his last six dating back to 2014. His lone win during the run came when he won a split decision over Francisco Rivera at UFC Fight Night 84. Pickett joined the UFC after the WEC merger in 2011. During his run, he has scored victories over Damacio Page, Mike Easton and Neil Seery. In the WEC, he defeated current UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson.

In the main event of UFC Fight Night 107, Jimi Manuwa will battle Corey Anderson in a light heavyweight contest.
