The UFC has tabbed Daniel Spitz to fill in against Mark Godbeer. Godbeer’s original opponent, Todd Duffee, was forced off the event earlier this month. The heavyweight bout will be part of UFC 209, which takes place March 4 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Spitz turned professional in 2015 and has won all five of his professional bouts. In his last bout, he defeated Colton Vaughn in only four seconds. He also holds a win over UFC veteran Wesley “Cabbage” Correira.
Godbeer signed with the UFC last winter. He made his promotional debut at UFC Fight Night 99 and lost via first-round submission against Justin Ledet. The loss dropped his professional record to 11-3. The British fighter has also competed for Bellator and BAMMA during his career.
In the main event of UFC 209, welterweight champion Tyron Woodley will put his title on the line for a second time against Stephen Thompson. The two fought to a draw at UFC 205.
