With the start of the Jiu-Jitsu Global Federation (JJGF), one of the JJGF Pillars has been: Education. The other 2 Pillars are: Communication/Information and Sport Competition. The JJGF has worked hard to establish Jiu-Jitsu belt ranking standards for each belt color to be use as a guide for academies and professors. To read more about the JJGF standards, click here. Education is a major factor in helping professors and practitioners gain a deeper understanding in Jiu-Jitsu and its application. The JJGF is an advocate of the art of Jiu-Jitsu and promotes aspects of Jiu-Jitsu self-defense that brings the community as a whole moving in the direction of effectiveness. To ensure that Jiu-Jitsu continues to head in this direction, the JJGF has established the Certified Instructors Training Path (CITP).
On October 3rd, 4th and 5th in Los Angeles, California 2014, the JJGF presents its inaugural CITP for Self-Defense Levels 1 and 2. This gathering will be led by Master Rickson Gracie and be filmed for open enrollment online for those Jiu-Jitsu practitioners and professors that wish to become certified by the JJGF. In regard to the physical techniques explored in October, the programs will cover both standup and ground fighting applications.
