The UFC has confirmed that former strawweights Joanne Calderwood and Bec Rawlings will move up for a flyweight fight. The bout will be part of UFC Fight Night 121, which takes place Nov. 19 at the Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, Australia.
Calderwood joined the UFC after competing on the 20th season of “The Ultimate Fighter.” She won three of her first four bouts in the Octagon over Seo Hee Ham, Cortney Casey and Valerie Letourneau. However, since defeating Letourneau at UFC Fight Night 89, she has dropped back-to-back bouts against Jessica Andrade and Cynthia Calvillo.
Rawlings is also looking to stop a two-fight skid. She will enter this bout coming off losses against Paige VanZant and Tecia Torres. Like Calderwood, Rawling was a cast member of same reality show season. Following the show, she has gone 2-3 in the Octagon with wins over Ham and Lisa Ellis.
In the main event of UFC Fight Night 121, Mark Hunt and Marcin Tybura will face off to keep pace in the heavyweight division.
