The UFC has announced a welterweight contest for their next trip to Poland. Veteran Jimmy Wallhead will return to action against TUF winner Warlley Alves. The bout will be part of UFC Fight Night 118, which takes place Oct. 21 at the Ergo Arena in Gdansk, Poland.
After an extensive career outside the Octagon, Wallhead finally signed with the UFC last year. In his debut, he dropped a split decision against Jessin Ayari. He then return and fell via submission against Luan Chagas on the preliminary card of UFC 212. During his career, Wallhead has fought for a variety of promotions including KSW, Bellator and Cage Warriors. He holds signature victories over Frank Trigg, Joey Villasenor and Che Mills.
Alves officially joined the UFC after winning the third season of “The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil.” Following a victory over Marcio Alexandre in the finale, he went on to defeat Alan Jouban, Nordine Taleb and Colby Covington. However, since defeating Covington, Alves has dropped back-to-back decisions against Bryan Barberena and Kamaru Usman.
In the main event of UFC Fight Night 118, Donald Cerrone and Darren Till will face off in a welterweight bout.
