Jessica Aguilar to make return against Cortney Casey

Former WSOF champion Jessica Aguilar

The UFC has announced a women’s strawweight contest for the upcoming UFC 211 event. Former World Series of Fighting champion Jessica Aguilar will take on Cortney Casey on the card, which takes place May 13 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas.

Aguilar signed with the UFC in 2015 after winning ten-straight bouts. However, in her debut, she fell via one-sided decision against Claudia Gadelha. The loss was Aguilar’s first defeat since 2010. During her extensive career, Aguilar has defeated the likes of former UFC champion Carla Esparza and Megumi Fujii. In 2014, “JAG” defeated Alida Gray to win the inaugural WSOF strawweight title. She defended it twice over Emi Fujino and Kalindra Faria before signing with the UFC.

Casey also signed with the UFC in 2015. She dropped her first two bouts against Joanne Calderwood and Seo Hee Ham before bouncing back with a pair of wins. Casey defeated Cristina Stanciu and Randa Markos. In her last fight, she checked the loss column against with a decision defeated at the hands of Gadelha.

In the main event of UFC 211, UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic will put his title on the line against former champion Junior dos Santos.
