A light heavyweight showdown between Jan Blachowicz (19-7) and Devin Clark (8-1) has been added to UFC Fight Night 118. The bout was announced this week.
UFC Fight Night 118 will be held Oct. 21 from Ergo Arena in Gdansk, Poland. It will be the organization’s first visit to Poland since Aug. 2015. A main event for the card has yet to be confirmed.
Blachowicz is 2-4 so far in his UFC run and is currently on a two-fight skid. Following his unanimous decision win over Igor Pokrajac in April 2016, Blachowicz has dropped consecutive decisions to Alexander Gustafsson and Patrick Cummins. The former KSW light heavyweight champion’s other UFC victory was a 2014 TKO over Ilir Latifi.
Blachowicz, 34, will have an opportunity to redeem himself in front of his countrymen after losing a decision to Jimi Manuwa in Krakow, Poland in 2015. The “Prince of Cieszyn” has won five of his 19 career wins via knockout and seven via submission.
Clark is a former RFA light heavyweight champion and is currently riding back-to-back wins inside the octagon. The 27-year-old South Dakota native last fought in April when he won a unanimous decision over Jake Collier at UFC on Fox 24. Prior to that he won a unanimous decision over Josh Stansbury last December.
Clark made his octagon debut at middleweight in July of last year but was stopped by Alex Nicholson in the first-round. He returned to the light heavyweight division after that. “Brown Bear” has won three of his eight wins via knockout and one by submission.
UFC Fight Night 118 now includes:
- Trevor Smith vs. Ramazan Emeev
