Jadambaa vs. Gafurov to unify FW belts, Moraes faces undefeated Akhmetov at One Championship – Dynasty of Champions

Despite embarrassing setbacks beyond their control One Championship forges ahead with a chance to regain lost honor as both featherweight champion Narantungalag and flyweight champion Adriano Moraes defend their belts.  One Championship – Dynasty of Champions takes place November 21st at the Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium in Beijing, China with a pay-per-view webcast through the promotion’s website.

This show is basically the re-scheduled September 1st event, the show that was postponed due to China’s observance of the end of World War II.  This event would mark a triumphant overcoming of that scheduling issue however One Championship also have to contend with the welterweight title situation as Ben Askren vs. Luis Santos last week was scratched when Santos couldn’t make weight for a rematch declared a “no contest” due to an inadvertent Askren eye poke.  Basically One Championship can use some good news and this card could be it.

The main event is to unify the featherweight titles.  Narantungalag Jadambaa won the world title with a unanimous decision over Koji Oishi in August with this being his first title defense.  Marat Gafurov earned this shot by taking the interim title with a rear-naked choke of Martin Nguyen in September.  Jadambaa enters this bout with a record of 10-3 with two wins since his loss to Koji Ando in Legend FC, Gafurov is still undefeated at 12-0 with this being his third fight for One Championship.

Adriano Moraes is set to make his second defense of the flyweight title in the co-main event as tries to hand the first professional loss to Kairat Akhmetov.  Moraes is 13-1 with a four-fight win streak including winning the One title with a guillotine choke of Geje Eustaquio and defending it with a unanimous decision over Asuka Mikami in March.  Akhmetov’s record of 22-0 is impressive however it consists of mainly fighters unknown outside their regions, his most recent fight being a TKO of Artemij Sitenkov in October.
