Higo vs. Blumer bantamweight showdown headlines RFA 32

A bantamweight showdown headlines Resurrection Fighting Alliance 32 as Leandro Higo faces Melvin Blumer in the main event.  RFA 32 takes place November 6th at the Mystic Lake Casino Hotel in Prior Lake, MN with a main card broadcast on AXS TV.

Leandro Higo made an impressive RFA debut in August with a rear-naked choke of Terrion Ware, a fight that extended Higo’s win streak to five in a row. Training out of the Pitbull Brothers gym Higo holds nine wins by submission in including his last three wins coming by rear-naked choke.  Higo’s most recent loss was in April 2012 by unanimous decision to Iliarde Leandro Higo with submission of Terrion Ware at RFA 29Santos while his 14-2 record holds only one time he was finished, a TKO from Marcos Vinicius Costa Silva in May 2010.  12-2 Melvin Blumer is on a six-fight win streak with his own RFA debut being a notable KO of Jeff Curran in March.  Blumer’s two losses were by submission while five of his wins have come by such along with five by KO/TKO and two decisions.

The co-main event is a battle of unbeaten standouts as 7-0 Chad Curry takes on 6-0 Landon Vannata.  Curry makes his RFA debut coming off a TKO of Hugh Pulley in Driller Promotions in February.  Curry trains out of Mario Roberto Jiu Jitsu Academy in Rochester, MN but is actually known for his striking with five of his wins coming by KO/TKO with the other two by submission.  The real question with Curry is how his conditioning will hold up in later rounds as his longest fight only lasted 2:40 into the second round while only the win over Pulley was Curry’s only other bout to make it out of the first round.  Vannata is also making his RFA debut with his most recent being an arm-triangle choke of Santana Sol Martinez in December.  Vannata has gone to the scorecards once while four of his wins have come by submission, one a piece from KO/TKO and decision.
