A heavyweight showdown between Rashad Coulter (8-3) and Allen Crowder (9-3) is set to take place at UFC 225. UFC officials recently announced the booking.
UFC 225 will be held June 9 at Chicago’s United Center. A main event for the card has not yet been determined.
Coulter had knocked out five straight opponents on the regional circuit before getting stopped by Chase Sherman in his octagon debut at UFC 211 in May of last year. “Daywalker” made his second octagon appearance at UFC Fight Night 121 this past November but was stopped by Tai Tuivasa in the first round.
Coulter is a Bellator and Legacy Fighting Alliance veteran and makes his home in Dallas, Texas. He has finished all eight of his career wins via knockout — and six in the first round.
Crowder was on a four-fight knockout winning streak when he got his shot in the UFC after stopping Dontale Mayes on Dana White’s Contender Series 8 last August. “Pretty Boy” made his octagon debut against Justin Willis at UFC 218 this past December but was stopped in the first round.
Crowder is a North Carolina native and former Next Level Fight Club heavyweight champion. He has finished five of his nine career wins via knockout and three by submission.
