The UFC has added a light heavyweight contest to UFC 160. Glover Teixeira will take on Ryan Bader at the event, which takes place May 25 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Teixeira recently picked up the biggest win of his career. He defeated Quinton “Rampage” Jackson via decision at UFC on Fox 6 “Johnson vs. Dodson.” The Brazilian made his long awaited UFC debut in 2012. He went 15-0 between 2005-2011 mostly on the Brazilian circuit. He has since won his first three fights in the UFC to extend his winning streak.
Bader defeated Vinny Magalhaes in the finals of the eighth season of “The Ultimate Fighter.” Since then he has had an up and down career inside the UFC. He holds victories over Jackson, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and Keith Jardine. At the same time, he has three losses including an embarrassing defeat at the hands of an aged Tito Ortiz. In his last fight, Bader got back on track with a first-round submission of former IFL champion Vladimir Matyushenko.
At the top of UFC 160, the promotion has added a pair of heavyweight fights. In the main event, UFC champion Cain Velasquez will defend his heavyweight title against Antonio Silva. Also on the card former Strikeforce and Dream champion Alistair Overeem take on former champion Junior dos Santos.
