Gil De Freitas vs. Chip Moraza-Pollard for vacant WW title at CES MMA 31

Chip Moraza-Pollard fights for CES WW title

Chip Moraza-Pollard fights for CES WW titleClassic Entertainment and Sports fills the vacant welterweight title this weekend as Gil De Freitas faces Chip Moraza-Pollard.  CES MMA 31 takes place October 30th at the Twin River Casino in Lincoln, RI with a main card broadcast on AXS TV.

17-5 De Freitas enters this bout with a four-fight win streak including TKOs of Chuck O’Neil and George Sheppard in CES MMA.  The worst one can say about De Freitas may be his penchant for decisions with 13 of his 22 fights ending on the judges’ scorecards while six of his wins have come by KO/TKO to two by submission.  10-8 Pollard has experience in WSOF and Bellator however those two bouts were both losses with the WSOF debut being a loss to Matt Secor in April.  Moraza-Pollard is in the midst of turning around his career as his most recent fight was in CES MMA where he TKO’d UFC vet Dan Lauzon, Moraza-Pollard’s fifth KO/TKO of his career.

Chuck O'NeilThe co-main event features Chuck O’Neil vs. fellow Bellator vet Daniel Vizcaya.  O’Neil was on a tear in CES MMA until his four-fight win streak was broken by Dominique Steele in June, a bout tat set O’Neil’s record at 15-7.  8-3 Vizcaya is best remembered for his split decision win over Jack Hermansson at Bellator 84 in December 2012 but almost two years went by before Vizcaya returned to the sport.  When he did return Vizcaya went 1-1 with a split decision loss to Nick Kraus last September and a unanimous decision win over Yousef Al-Ghoul just four weeks later in October 2014 serving as his most recent fight.

Greg RebelloThe fight most likely to have the fans standing is Greg Rebello vs. Mike Mucitelli, a battle of two fan-favorite Bellator vets.  Mucitelli went 5-1-1 in Bellator with his KO loss to Liam McGeary still making the highlight reels, an armbar win over Mark Griffin serving as his last fight in that promotion.  In March Mucitelli made his CES MMA debut with a unanimous decision over Tyler King to bring his record to 7-2.  Mike Mucitelli18-6 Rebello has gone 6-3 post-Bellator with his last year holding wins over J.A. Dudley and Tyler King.
