UFC and Bellator MMA veteran Yoshiyuki “Zenko” Yoshida signed with Ganryujima as well as ONE title contender Hideki “Shrek” Sekine.

Yoshida is going to face Muay Thai fighter from Thailand named Kuntap Charoenchai, and Sekine is going to take on Baru Harn from Mongolian Sumo.

Both attended the press conference held in Tokyo wearing gi.

“I am Yoshida, a judo-ka. I want to fight like a judo-ka. Grabbing gi for the throw and even KO or cause damage with the throw. I am looking to do that kind of fight.”

Yoshida also shared his thoughts on Ganryujima, “Honestly I haven’t been watching so much (of Ganryujima) but my impression (of Ganryujima) is mixed martial arts. Like the old UFC. More emphasize on budo aspect and also more towards the entertainment.”

Yoshida als talked about Kuntap, his upcoming opponent, “He is a fantastic Muay Thai fighter and his knees and all of his kicks are very good. I still haven’t come up with method to win but, I am looking to do my fight and win.”

Sekine said, “Not just only BJJ but also, judo and boxing, since I am learning now, I am using all of these skills to win. I have 30 seconds on the ground too (under the special rules) so I think that is enough time to submit my opponent.
