A lightweight contest between Francisco Trinaldo and Akbarh Arreola is set for UFC Fight Night 62. UFC officials recently announced the addition to the card, which takes place March 21 at the Ginasio do Maracanazinho in Rio de Janeiro.
Trinaldo made it to the UFC after competing on the first Brazilian season of “The Ultimate Fighter.” He won his promotional debut over IFL veteran Delson Heleno at middleweight before dropping down to the lightweight division.So far at 155 pounds, he has gone 4-3 inside the UFC. In his last outing, he scored a decision victory over Leandro Silva at UFC Fight Night 51.
In 2011, Trinaldo defeated Derrick Burnsed for the Jungle Fight lightweight title. He defend it once over Adriano Martins before joining the UFC.
Arreola made his UFC debut last year with a 22-7 professional record. Inside the Octagon, he split a pair of bouts. He dropped his debut to Tiago Trator before rebounding with a first-round armbar submission over Yves Edwards last November.
In the main event of UFC Fight Night 62, former WEC featherweight champion Urijah Faber will take on Raphael Assuncao in a bantamweight bout. Faber previously submitted Assuncao via third-round rear-naked choke at WEC 46 in 2010.
